Public Beaches
In addition to the public beach at George Washington’s Birthplace and the beach at Westmoreland State Park, we recommend checking out the public beaches in the downtown Ferry Landing District. There, visitors can stroll the Boardwalk, grab a bite at a waterfront restaurant or food truck, ride the swings on the playground, shop for souvenirs, cast a fishing line from the Municipal Pier or utilize the bathhouse facilities. Beach areas further north and south of the downtown offer a quieter, more secluded experience.
Golf Cart Rentals
If you want to spend the day in downtown Colonial Beach, you can rent a golf cart for your adventure! Three rental companies are conveniently located along Colonial Ave as you enter the downtown area.
