How do I get there?
Closest airports are Richmond International (RIC) Dulles International (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA). For ground travelers, Interstate 95 and VA Route 301 are the main routes used for reaching Colonial Beach. The Nest at Swan Point is less than a ten minute drive from downtown Colonial Beach.
Can I swim in the water at the property?
We don’t recommend swimming because the area is shallow, especially during low tide and creek bottom is silty underfoot. However, the location is great for floating on a raft, paddle-boarding or kayaking. Also, several great local swimming spots are a short drive away!
May I bring my boat, jet ski, paddle board or inflatable tubes/rafts?
At this time, we do not allow motorized watercraft at our dock. You may bring your boat or jet skis if they are launched and docked at a local marina. The closest boat ramp and marina is Stepps Harbor View Marina, located at 277 Harbor View Circle. You may bring your own rafts, tubes and paddle-boards. We also have two kayaks and a couple spare life jackets for our guests to use.
Can I check in early or check out late?
We try to accommodate these requests on a case-by-case basis for our guests who seek our permission in advance. We do not allow guests to remain on the property when our cleaning staff is scheduled to be there.
