The property

The Nest at Swan Point is a 2,995 square-foot waterfront vacation home in Colonial Beach, Virginia. Colonial Beach is the second largest public beach in the state and is steeped in rich history. It is an easy getaway at just a 1.5 hour drive from Washington, DC or Richmond, VA — a perfect place for families and friends to reunite on the east coast!

Families will love the property’s park-like setting and nature enthusiasts will be captivated by the beauty of the wildlife and scenery. The vacation home has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and plenty of single-level living space for our guests.

Whether you choose to hop in a kayak, challenge your fellow guests to shuffleboard, or get lost in a book while enjoying the spectacular views, you’re sure to find the perfect experience at The Nest at Swan Point!

The hosts

In early 2022, our family purchased this waterfront property and spent five months working tirelessly to create the beautiful home you see today. New flooring, paint, fixtures and other improvements have transformed the home into a perfect vacation property for our guests!

The joy of hospitality runs deep in our veins, so we are beyond honored to be able to host your getaway. Our goal is to offer a space for our guests to unplug, escape and relax. With a spacious floor plan, fully-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and family-friendly amenities, we hope you’ll find everything you need —and more — at The Nest!

The basics

We provide a starter pack of supplies, which includes:

a welcome basket with a few snacks and water bottles

a roll of paper towels

a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom

trash bags

basic cleaning products, dish soap and detergents

bed linens and towels for each guest room

In the kitchen, we provide a variety of small appliances, tools, and commonly used spices. If your cooking style requires something special, please be sure to bring it with you!

We have a Keurig coffee maker and provide a few pods for your convenience. A drip-style coffee maker is also available — just bring your coffee grounds!

Guests will need to purchase any extra supplies for their stay.

 Verified We had a great stay! The house was very spacious, had so much light, and was very clean! The garden areas were very pretty, but spaced away from the pathways and open areas to allow for a spacious feeling outside also. We loved the view and being able to sit at the large table and eat or play games while enjoying looking at the creek! The neighborhood was very quiet, and we enjoyed the calm atmosphere. The Wi-Fi worked well; we were able to stream YouTube and also use our laptops. Colonial Beach waterfront was a very easy drive from the house.  Verified Our stay was wonderful! Everything we could of needed was stocked at the home and the property is BEAUTIFUL. I truly think the pictures do not do this home justice.  Verified The nest is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect place for our family vacation!!! The house is beautiful and spacious along with a spectacular view!They have a wonderful kitchen and well stocked for our family who loves to cook. The welcome basket of snacks was also such a nice treat! We all enjoyed playing pool, darts, shuffle board and many of the games they provided. The weather was amazing all week so we were able to spend some time at the beach which is only 10 minutes away. We also enjoyed the kayaks, bocce ball and other outdoor games as well. In the evening we would relax in the Adirondack chairs by the water or fish from the doc. We saw swans, bald eagles, and a turtle on our walk. The grandkids also enjoyed feeding the pet fish. I can’t recommend this place enough!! We all loved it so much and Elton and Michelle were wonderful and very responsive hosts who truly thought of everything for a wonderful vacation!  Verified Absolutely beautiful home! A very well loved place. Although the weather did not cooperate, the well appointed game room, TV’s and board games kept us occupied when we could not go out. These were without a doubt the most gracious and considerate hosts I have encountered. The home was so well organized, they thought of things I never imagined.  Verified The Nest was the perfect spot for our family's annual week-long vacation. The home is absolutely beautiful and included anything we needed for a relaxing and fun time. The location was private yet perfectly close to the beach where we would spend most afternoons. Returning in the afternoon bought even more enjoyment when we would fish, prepare dinners in the kitchen overlooking Maddock Creek and ending with some pool, darts and other available games.  Verified Unbelievable home. Better than pics. 10 min drive to beach community with plenty of shops and things to do no need to leave house we were busy from fishing on the dock to playing games, and outdoor games all included.  Verified Our family enjoyed our stay from beginning to end! We were all amazed by how beautiful, clean, and welcoming the home was. Everything felt luxurious and thoughtfully picked out and the home itself looked even better than the amazing photos that were listed.  Verified We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our needs. We were in town for a wedding so our son and daughter and their children stayed with us. Since we were busy with the family wedding we weren’t able to take advantage of the kayaks (but they looked great). The game room was a bonus! The house is well supplied, very clean and well cared for. We also appreciated the welcome snacks and the soap and shampoo basket. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. If in the area again we would definitely rent this house.
